One of my favorite products to make with essential oils is natural insect repellent. I don’t leave my house without it because bugs absolutely love me. Having an insect repellent that actually works and is safe to put on my skin is important because I use it all summer long. I’ve been making my own for over three years now and there’s no going back! I love this recipe because it smells so good and doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky or like you need to take a shower after using it. It’s free of DEET and other harmful ingredients and still gets the job done.
There are several different combinations of oils that work, but this is my favorite.

If you want to make the switch to a natural bug repellent, but don’t want to make your own, you might be interested in Young Living’s Insect Repellent. It’s already made up and is Deet free as well. You can leave it in the container it comes in or pour some in a spray bottle or a glass roller bottle for easy application.
You can’t go wrong with either option because both smell amazing, are toxin free and actually work!
